Morocco Tour itinerary for  14-Day Casablanca Morocco Grand Tour

Day 1: Casablanca

Morocco Culture Tours  organizes private tours from Casablanca to Fes, desert and Marrakech and Essaouira in guided tours across Morocco in 14 day-tour. Upon arrival to Casablanca we will transfer you to local hotel and you will have short tour of Casablanca including visiting the Great Mosque Hassan II. It is the largest mosque in Morocco.

Day 2: Casablanca - Rabat - Chefcahouen

After breakfast, we transfer you to Rabat for a guided tour of the following historical sites: Kingdom Palace, Mausoleum of Mohammed V, the grandfather and father of the current king are buried here, Hassan Mosque, a wonder of the medieval Moorish world with its great minaret left unfinished when its founder died in 1199, the Chellah necropolis, and Kasbah Oudaya. Then we travel to Ouazane and Chefchaouen. It's famous for its blue-washed structures in the old town. Its steep cobbled pathways are lined with leather and weaving industries. Morocco Culture Tours has carefully selected a pleasant riad/hotel for you.

Day 3: Chefchaouen - Ouazane - Meknes - Fes

After breakfast, we drive over the Rif Mountains to Volubilis, an old Roman city that has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Continue on to Meknes, a neighbouring old and exquisite imperial city surrounded by kilometers of formidable walls. Visit the most important sites, such as the wonderfully decorated Bab Mansour Gate, the water cistern, and the remains of the Palace devoted to Moulay Ismail, the ancient monarch of Meknes and the Kingdom of Morocco, as well as his mausoleum and mosque. Continue to Fes at the end of the visits. Overnight accommodation in a riad. Dinner is included in the half-board rate.

Day 4: Fes (Sightseeing Tour with a local guide)   

Today we will look at Fes' intellectual capital. It is Morocco's second largest city (population of 1 million). Fes is the country's former capital and one of its four imperial cities. Fes is divided into three parts: Bali Fes el (the oldest part surrounded by a wall, where you find more than 9000 narrow streets and allies). Fes-Jdid, also known as the New Fes, is the home of the Mellah, or Jewish district. During the French occupation, the Ville Nouvelle was built as the newest area of Fes. Fes el Bali is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with the world's largest medina (old city).

Day 5: Fes – Moulay Driss- Volubilis – Meknes

Today we go to Meknes, where we shall travel back in time to the third century. We will go to Volubilis, Morocco's most important archaeological site (features Roman ruins ). Then we'll go to Meknes (named after a Berber tribe). Under Moulay Ismail, Meknes was Morocco's capital. We will have a guided tour of Meknes and will spend the night here.

Day 6: Meknes – Midelt – Ziz valley – Erfoud – Merzouga desert

We'll be driving through Ifrane today ( Berber name of Ifrane means caves). Because of its greenery, Ifrane has been dubbed "Little Switzerland." There is also a ski resort in the Middle Atlas. Following Ifrane, we travel to Errachidia and Erfoud (famous for its pottery and fossils). Then we travel to Rissani, the ancestral home of the Alaouist dynasty. Later, we will arrive in Merzouga desert and have dinner at a small desert hotel.  

Day 7: Merzouga Dunes (Off-road by 4x4 & Camel Trek & Night in Desert )

Today we will have a tour of Morocco's largest sand dunes, the Erg Chebbi desert. We will see many nomadic tents in the middle of the desert, and we will also stop for tea with a nomadic family. Then we'll go to Khamliya, a village where we'll listen to native music. Later in the afternoon, we ride camels into the desert to reach our desert camp-bivouac in Merzouga. We spend the night here in Berber tents.

Day 8: Merzouga desert – Rissani – Todgha Gorges  

Today we leave Merzouga for Risani, the Mausoleum of Moulay Ali Chrif, the founder of the Alaouite Dynasty. We will go to the local huge souk in Rissani. Then we travel to Todgha Gorge, which is located in the High Atlas Mountains. We'll take a trek into the canyons here. We stayed in a modest hotel in Todra for the night.   

Day 9: Todgha Gorges – Dades Valley – Ouarzazate

Today, early in the morning, we set out on the Road of 1000 Kasbahs. Then we drive through Boumalen, which is located on the outskirts of Dades Valley. Locals in this valley make cosmetics such as soaps and perfumes. The locals organize a festival to commemorate the rose. Then we arrive in Ouarzazate (Hollywood of Africa). It is primarily inhabited by Berbers, and we will see Taourirt Kasbah, as well as Morocco's largest studios, here (Lawrence of Arabia , The Living Daylights , The Last Temptation of Christ, The Mummy, Gladiator , Kingdom of Heaven). This night, we'll be staying in the lcoal hotel.

Day 10: Ouarzazate – Ait Benahddou – Taroudant

Today we'll go to the fortified city of At Benhaddou. This Kasbah was once a caravan route connecting the Sahara and Marrakech. Since 1987, Ait Benhaddou-Kasbah has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then we travel to Taroudant, known as the "Grandmother of Marrakech." Taroudant has a fertile plain and grape farms, and it is a well-known marketing town with its souk. We stayed in a local hotel for the night.

Day 11: Taroudant – Agadir – Essaouira

Today, we will travel to Agadir, the Berber capital. It is a fairly modern city on the Atlantic Ocean's coast with Morocco's most major fishing and commercial port. It is also the world's first sardine port. Agadir is a contemporary, busy, and lively city known for its marine food. After exploring Agadir, we travel to Essaouira to see beautiful city. Mogador is another name for Essaouira in Portuguese. We will stay at a local hotel, and you will have free time to explore the city.

Day 12: Essaouira - Marrakech

Today we explore the Essaouira shore, which is well renowned for its kite and windsurfing, horseback riding, and camel rides along the beach. Essaouira has been known for its Gnaoua Music Festival since 1998. Transfer to the city of Marrakech. This evening, we will spend the night in Marrakech.   

Day 13: Marrakech, Full Guided City Tour

Today, a full-day guided trip of Marrakech is planned (known as the "Red City"). It is Morocco's most important former imperial city (situated near Atlas Mountain). Marrakech has both an antique fortified city (The Medina) and a contemporary city (called Gueliz). Marrakech boasts Morocco's largest traditional market. We'll go deeper into Djemaa el Fna Square, which is teeming with storytellers, water sellers, dancers, and snake charmers. Then we go to the Koutoubia Mosque and the Dar Pacha El Glaoui home. We stayed in a modest hotel near the main square in the medina.

Day 14: Marrakech to airport

Today, following your morning guided tour, you are free to explore Marrakech on your own. Our excursion will come to an end here.
