Day 1: Fes - Midelt - Merzouga desert excursion

This private tour with Morocco Culture Tours starts with comfortable transfer from your local hotel in Fes. The driver will be waiting for you to drive to Ifrane, a picturesque mountain village known as Morocco's Switzerland. We will make a stop near a cedar grove in the middle Atlas Mountains to observe monkeys enjoying their freedom. We continue our journey to Azrou, a Berber town in Morocco's largest cedar forest. Then we go to Midelt, which is known for its minerals and cool weather in the summer. We'll drive through Ziz Valley before seeing Erfoud and its fossil goods. We can go to the local souk and have Berber pizza in Rissani. Later, we arrived in Merzouga desert and spent the night in a desert hotel right in front of the dunes.

Day 2: Merzouga - Todra Gorges - Dades valley

You will get up early to see the stunning dawn at a location where the color of the sand dunes and the play of shadows create an amazing sight. After that, you'll have breakfast and take a shower at the hotel/riad. We'll proceed to Rissani and make a stop in Erfoud, a city noted for its petrified marbles, where you'll visit a workshop that makes marble fossils. After that, we'll go to the Todra Gorges, which are great for trekking and exploring on your own. We proceed to Dades Goirges and check into our hotel/riad.

Day 3: Dades - Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou - Marrakech

After a breakfast of typical local baked breads, we will leave the Gorges of Crazy Rocks and travel along the Dades Valley to Kelaat M'gouna, the city of Roses, where we will stop to admire the goods created from the valuable Damascus Roses that bloom in these valleys. Then it's on to Ouarzazate, Africa's Hollywood. After lunch, we'll go to the famed Ait Benhaddou, which has been featured in numerous blockbuster films and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This Kasbah fortification is one of Morocco's largest. We continue our drive across the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the highest drivable pass at Tizi n'Tichka, which stands at 2260 meters in altitude. The journey descends, going through Berber settlements and farmland, orchards and rivers until we arrive in Marrakech. As the tour comes to a close, our driver will drop you off at your hotel.
