Morocco Tour itinerary for 10-Day Casablanca to Merzouga Tour

Day 1: Casablanca - Rabat - Fes

Morocco Culture Tours conducts private tours from Casablanca to Fes, the desert, and Marrakech in 10-day guided tours throughout Morocco. Today, after breakfast, we'll drive to Fes, with a stop in Rabat along the way (the capital). We will eat lunch here and have free time to explore this coastal town. Then we go to Fes, Morocco's spiritual capital.

Day 2 : Fes guided tour

Today, after breakfast, we will begin our tour by visiting the medina (old part of the city). We will tour Morocco's small lanes, Berber carpet dealers, and many art objects. We will also visit tanneries and potters, and have lunch in a typical restaurant in the center of the medina. Then we'll finish the city tour.

Day 3: Volubilis - Meknes - Fes

After an early breakfast, we will go to Volubilis to visit the ancient Roman ruins. We'll walk through the 2000-year-old ruins before heading to Moulay Idris, one of Morocco's holy cities. After lunch, our driver will take us on a guided tour of Meknes, the royal city. Then we'll return to Fes in the evening.

Day 4 : Fes - Erfoud - Merzouga

We'll be driving across the Middle Atlas mountains this morning after an early breakfast. We will travel through lovely forests and Berber communities. We'll stop for lunch at Midelt, a town known for its fossils and rocks. We carry on to Erfoud, Rissani, and in the evening, we arrive in Merzouga desert, where we will spend the night in a small desert hotel.

Day 5 : Merzouga -Sahara Desert

Today we go 4x4 exploring in the desert. We will ride camels to the desert in the afternoon and spend the night in Berber tents. We'll witness a spectacular sunset and listen to Berber music around the campfire.

Day 6: Merzouga - Todra Gorges

We will ride camels back to Merzouga town after viewing the sunrise over the desert in the morning, and then drive to Rissani to tour the local souk. In the afternoon, we will go to Erfoud and then trek through the Todra Gorges (300 m high). We spent the night in a neighboring hotel.

Day 7 : Todra Gorges - Marrakech

After breakfast, we'll travel to Marrakech via Ouarzazate to explore the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. After lunch, we will journey through the highlands to Marrakech and visit the Djemaa el-Fna plaza in the medina. It is one of the most popular sights in Marrakech. In Marrakech, we stayed in a small hotel for supper and overnight.

Day 8: Marrakech city excursion with a local guide

After breakfast, we'll have a guided tour of Marrakech, stopping at the Bahia Palace and the Saadian Tombs. Following lunch, we will visit the exquisite Koutoubia Mosque and tour the narrow lanes of the medina-souk, which are lined with fresh fruit, spices, Berber carpets, and a range of art products.

Day 9 : Marrakech - Casablanca

Today we will return to Casablanca, where we will enjoy a free program. Optional medina excursion.

Day 10 : Casablanca
